Prof. Gao Haiyan was successfully elected as an academician of International Academy of Food Science and Technology, IAFoST
Recently, the International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST) announced the list of new academicians of the International Academy of Food Science and Technology (IAFoST). Chinese outstanding female scientist, Prof Gao Haiyan, the editor in chief of Future Postharvest and Food, was successfully elected.
Prof. Gao Haiyan is former director of the Food Science Research Institute of Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences, currently serves as the head of five provincial-level scientific research platforms, including the National Berry Preservation and Processing Technology Research and Development Center and the Key Laboratory of Fruit Postharvest Treatment of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. Vice Chairman and Expert of the National Agricultural Products Processing Fruit Professional Committee, Vice Chairman of the International Association ofDietetic Nutrition and Safety, Director of the Chinese Society for Food Science and Technology, Vice Chairman of the Leisure Food Processing Technology Branch of the Chinese Society for Food Science and Technology, and Vice Chairman of the Zhejiang Food Society. Prof. Gao Haiyan the founding editor of Future Postharvest and Food, the associate editor of Food Frontiers (IF 9.9), Journal of Advanced Research (IF 10.7), and Quality Assurance and Safety of Crops & Foods (IF 4.0).
Mainly engaged in research related to food logistics preservation processing and quality control, future post harvest and nutritional health of fresh food, functional exploration and comprehensive utilization of plant-based food. Hosted over 70 national key research and development projects, national public welfare industry special projects, national funds, scientific and technological support, major national cooperation and provincial major research and development projects at all levels. Received 23 awards for scientific and technological achievements, including 2 second prizes for national scientific and technological progress and 1 second prize for national technological invention. Published 425 papers and 3 works; Obtained 60 authorized invention patents both domestically and internationally, and formulated 7 industry standards.
