Good news! CiteScore 2023 has been released, and Food Frontiers has achieved out

On June 5, 2024, Elsevier released the latest journal CiteScore based on the Scopus database. As part of the series of journal metrics in Scopus, CiteScore provides researchers with a more comprehensive, transparent, and timely understanding of journal impact, serving as a basis for selecting appropriate journals for submissions. In the 2023 CiteScore announced during this release, Food Frontiers achieved remarkable success, scoring 10.5. This score represents a significant increase of 2.2 from the previous year (2022 CiteScore = 8.3), marking a growth of 26.5%. Among the 389 food science journals indexed by Scopus, Food Frontiers ranked 31st, placing it in the top 8% of the discipline!

Food Frontiers, the flagship journal of the International Society for Food, Nutrition, and Safety, was formally launched in 2020 by a consortium including Nanchang University, Northwest University, Jiangsu University, and Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, in collaboration with Wiley Publishing Group. Professor Nie Shaoping from Nanchang University and Professor Xiao Jianbo from the University of Vigo, Spain, serve as the founding co-editors-in-chief. The journal publishes experimental research and policy management papers related to food science and technology, along with reviews, perspectives, highlights, opinions, and profiles.

Food Frontiers is indexed in databases such as WOS, ESCI, Scopus, EI, Index Copernicus, CABI, CAS, DOAJ, and FSTA. In June 2023, Food Frontiers achieved its inaugural 2-year impact factor of 9.9 and 5-year impact factor of 10.0.
